How it works:
Your Couch to 5k course is 9 weeks long, running 3 days per week.Â
We meet up at Hyde Leisure Centre each Monday and Wednesday (outside in fair weather, or inside the Cafe on cold or rainy days – look out for other friendly members in our famous yellow HRC t-shirts!).
Try to arrive around 6:15pm for a quick brief and catchup beforehand ready for a 6:30pm start.
On Monday’s and Wednesday’s you will be lead by one of our UK Athletics qualified LiRFs (Leader in Running Fitness) who will lead the session and give you the relevant information and instruction during the session.
On the third day of the week, you can run any time of your choosing, we suggest Friday or Saturday. Don’t worry, we will show you what you need to do on the third day. Just make sure you have at least one rest day between the runs to allow your body to recover.
NOTE: During the autumn and winter months, it’s darker evenings so it’s a UKA requirement that you wear either Hi-Viz clothing and/or a body/head torch so you can see and be seen, so please come prepared.
Last but not least, enjoy the journey! It might look daunting at first, but trust the process – we were all new to running once and we are here to support you every step of the way!
